The Data Stream Advantage

Our results panel is more than just a total. It's a dashboard designed to give you a complete overview of your time.

  • Instant Totals: See your total hours in both a standard h:m:s format and a decimal format, perfect for timesheets and invoicing.
  • Visual Breakdown: The data stream bars give you an at-a-glance visualization of your total time, broken down into full days, hours, and minutes for a better sense of scale.

For Freelancers & Employees

This tool is perfect for accurately tracking your hours for payroll. The decimal format is especially useful for filling out timesheets that require hours in a format like "7.5" instead of "7h 30m."

Frequently Asked Questions

Get quick answers to common questions about calculating work hours.

How does the calculator handle AM/PM?

The calculator uses the 24-hour time format (also known as military time) that is standard for `input type="time"`. For example, 1:00 PM is entered as 13:00, and 5:00 PM is 17:00. This ensures unambiguous and accurate calculations, especially for overnight shifts.

What's the difference between the h:m:s and decimal formats?

The h:m:s format (e.g., 8h 30m 00s) is a standard, human-readable way to express time. The decimal format (e.g., 8.50) is often required for payroll systems and invoices, where you multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours worked. Our calculator provides both so you have the format you need for any situation.

Is the data I enter saved?

No. For your privacy, this tool performs all calculations directly in your browser. None of the times or break durations you enter are saved or sent to a server. When you refresh or close the page, the data is cleared.
